Aaron Pierre’s Rising Star Awards At ABFF Honours

At the 7th Annual American Black Film Festival (ABFF) Honors on February 17th, 2025, actor Aaron Pierre was awarded the Rising Star Award.

The ceremony, held at the SLS Hotel in Los Angeles, celebrates outstanding contributions to film and television by Black artists. Pierre, known for his roles in The Underground Railroad and as the voice of Mufasa in Mufasa: The Lion King, received the award from 2024 recipient Kelvin Harrison Jr.

Pierre’s appearance on the teal carpet drew attention, with the actor donning a stylish silver ensemble for the event. His arrival was captured in a TikTok video shared by the ABFF, highlighting his excitement and gratitude for the recognition.

In addition to his Rising Star Award, Pierre recently garnered attention for his spirited entrance on The Jennifer Hudson Show.

The ABFF Honors continues to recognize and celebrate the achievements of Black artists, with this year’s event also honoring Marla Gibbs, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, Keke Palmer, and Giancarlo Esposito for their significant contributions to the entertainment industry.
