Elon Musk has publicly dismissed rumors regarding his potential acquisition of TikTok.
During a virtual appearance at the WELT Economic Summit, Musk stated, “I have not put in a bid for TikTok, and I don’t have any plans for what I would do if I had TikTok.”
Musk emphasized his preference for building companies from the ground up rather than acquiring existing ones, noting that his purchase of Twitter (now rebranded as X) was an exception driven by a desire to preserve freedom of speech.
These statements come amid ongoing discussions about TikTok’s future in the United States, where the platform faces potential bans due to national security concerns.
President Donald Trump had previously suggested Musk as a potential buyer for TikTok’s U.S. operations, but Musk has clarified that he has no interest in such a move.
Musk also mentioned that he does not use TikTok personally and is not familiar with it, further diminishing the likelihood of any future acquisition plans.
