Dancehall superstar Vybz Kartel has reportedly been granted a U.S. visa, leading to speculation about his potential attendance at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards.
According to sources, Kartel collected his passport with the visa from the U.S. Embassy in Kingston, Jamaica, earlier this week.
This development is significant, considering that Kartel’s U.S. visa was revoked in 2005, and he has not held one since.
The 67th Annual Grammy Awards are scheduled for Sunday, February 2nd, 2025, in Los Angeles. While there is no official confirmation of Kartel’s attendance, his recent visa approval has fueled anticipation among fans and industry observers.
Notably, Vybz Kartel has received his first-ever Grammy nomination this year. His eight-track EP, Party With Me, is nominated for Best Reggae Album. He is nominated alongside Collie Buddz for Take it Easy, Shenseea for Never Gets Late Here, The Wailers for Evolution, and the Bob Marley: One Love – Music Inspired By The Film (Deluxe) album.
This nomination marks a significant milestone in Kartel’s career, highlighting his enduring influence in the reggae and dancehall genres.
