Elon Musk Appointed By Trump To Co-Lead New Department Of Government Efficiency With Vivek Ramaswamy

Former President Donald Trump has appointed Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, to co-lead the newly established Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) alongside entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy.

The department aims to streamline government operations by reducing bureaucracy, cutting excessive regulations, and restructuring federal agencies.

Trump announced that Musk and Ramaswamy will “pave the way” for his administration’s goals, promising an overhaul that will culminate by July 4, 2026—America’s 250th Independence Day.

Musk, known for his outspoken views on government efficiency, previously suggested leading a task force to tackle these issues and even joked about launching “merch” for the initiative on his social media platform, X.

His appointment has stirred debate, with supporters praising his commitment to efficiency, while critics raise concerns about the potential impact on his business ventures.

Musk, a vocal Trump supporter, has also contributed over $100 million to a pro-Trump super PAC, intensifying public interest in his role in reshaping federal operations.
