According to ESPN and The Associated Press, coach Mike Budenholzer believes Cousins will be good to debut for the 13-8 Bucks when they host the 13-10 Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday evening.

The Bucks have won seven straight games but have also been without center Brook Lopez, who hasn’t played since he hurt his back in the season-opening win over the Brooklyn Nets last month.

Cousins is a two-time All-NBA Second-Team selection who is no longer an All-Star following multiple injury setbacks. Nevertheless, the 31-year-old could offer some help playing alongside superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo with Lopez out indefinitely, per Chinmay Vaidya of DraftKings Nation.

“Obviously, Brook is a big part of what we do, can’t wait for him to get back healthy, but at the end of the day, without Brook, we don’t have another big,” Antetokounmpo recently remarked, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. “I feel like it’s a lot of load on me and Bobby [Portis] to be those bigs all the time on the court, so just adding another guy, that’ll be nice.”

Cousins most recently averaged 8.9 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 1.9 assists in 41 total regular-season games with the Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Clippers during the 2020-21 campaign.
